Good Friday

Holy Hip Hop with Secular Hip Hop

I have recently done a show at a bar with other Secular Rap artists. I did my tracks and then they did theirs. After my performance I got some good feed back from some guys who love my music because they never new that you could rap about God they way I did. Most people I know are supportive of me doin' this because I'm like the light in these dark places but some people are worried because they think I could lose my vision and start doin' what they're doin'. I've been a Christian for 10 yrs and I don't believe God would give me that opportunity if I couldn't handle it. Let me know what you think especially if you've performed with secular artists, becuase I will be doin' more shows with them.

I believe God can give the grace to minister in a secular situation, that's what we do when we witness to people whether it's through music or not. My only advise would be to make sure that you are ready to deal with the praise and rejection of man. Other than that I pray lives are changed as a result of the work God gave you to do.

Thanks for the advise man, The rejection is somethin' I am defenitely aware of. But how I will handle I am not sure. It won't stop me from doin' this at Bars and night clubs but I will need God to keep me positive.

I feel you bro. We are in the same boat, we were asked to do a tour where we are the only ones representing Christ but its not just HIP HOP but All other Kinds of music. We have been praying about it and talking to people about the best way to present the Gospel to such a group of people. If you have the stage and the mic and people are listening to you then bring them the Gospel! If you have a sincere heart and you are truly trying to minister the Gospel and not trying to be like the ones going on before or after you then you should be cool. But The people who are warning you about the possibilities of you changing are absolutely right. You have to do what Proverbs 4:23 says Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. Have a team with you to support and women to minister to women as well. (That's Important) Because a halfdress good looking woman, is hard to minister to Bruhh. Leave them up to the women to handle. Hope that helps.

Grace and Peace

Thank you. I do have a female vocalist on a couple of my tracks and I have asked her to come to some of the future shows I have these cats, I think it will make a big difference. Thanks for the scripture I wasn't sure where to lookin' in the bible for this. I will pray for you as you go on your tour. Blessings!!

smile!! first of all let me say this is not meant to bash anything you feel because its not my place to judge but arent we supposed to separate ourselves from the world granted we are to reach the masses but in a bar?? Paul said let not your good be evil spoken of. I am the first to admit that we are supposed to take the ministry out into the world but im not too sure if its cool for you to be seen coming out of these places true your doing no wrong but if one who doesnt know what is going on would see you steppin in or out of the bar it will make them feel as if your a hypocrite which will leave a soul lost and confused as i said before i dont mean for this to be judgmental i just dont see that as something to betaken lightly salvation is not just what you say its what you do but this is just my opinion on it is all

I understand where you comin' from. There might be people who may be confused, BUT I am there only to do my music I didn't drink, I didn't curse, and I was checkin' out the women. I only went there to tell them about christ through my music. I think if someone would think that I am a hypocrite it's because I say one thing and do the other not because where I am at the time. Jesus went and hung out with Matthew at his place where every one was drunk. He didn't drink or look at the women there he told 'em a story. I believe by goin' to the bars and night clubs I am doin' what Jesus did. I will always remember that I am in this world but not of this world. Let me know what you think.

I used to wrestle with that quote from the bible "your good not being evil spoken of"
Romans 14:16 since I heard it everytime someone wasn't sure if something was ok. But once I read it and realized the writer was settling a dietary issue it helped me a lot. I don't think Good Friday's actions will put a stumbling block or cause another Believer to fall. Someone may randomly drive by the night club around one o'clock in the morning on a Saturday night then see him in church Sunday, but I think if that person is a believer & concerned about his spiritual well being as well they will ask him about it. We are to be light in darkness so sometimes we purposely take our lights where the dark is.

Please overlook my spelling, I don't be got spell check in my reply box... :-)
