Whats up with Christian Reggaeton singers?

Lately I have seen my fellow ministry partners make a fool of themselves acting like secular artists. I have made a comparison between Christian Reggaeton artists and Hip Hop artists and have noticed that Christian Hip Hop artists are briging true word in there message. I know is not the ridim so why aren't we delivering Theological, Bible based lirics in our Reggaeton albums? I recently did find a group that basically are bringing word based lirics in there new album so that means people are noticing the same thing I am so I give them props for that but we as Reggaeton ministers gotta step up to do plate and bring the True word to the streets and stop the hyping up strategy.

I agree, it's one reason I can't listen to all the Christian reggaeton out there. But there are a few man, just keep looking. LOL I like Crossed Out.

Baby Tone,

First for all, God bless you homie.

It's good to see headz or finally writing about spanish based music.
I believe no one has the intensions to bring music which doesn't have complete theological rhymes.
Whether Hip Hop or Reggaeton. I don't think heads are just acting like secular artist. See it all starts were the person is getting their mentorship from, they know they love God, they know they have a talent....so why not do it, is their first reaction. The thing is that just as a christian needs to have fellowship and get mentorship from the get! of their spiritual walk... so does an artist. We bring the word of God in our music and we worship God through our music. Its and offering to God, it may not always have a theological message but never the less, its an offering. The Hyping up strategy is a reggaeton thing...sort of like Beat Boxing is a Hip-Hop thing...feel me? Now in no way am I saying to hype up their emotions on Christ and then leave them high and dry or don't speak about God at all in your songs and at the end of the day say "Yeah I'm Christian". Represent Christ to YOUR best ability. At the end of the show...Allow that fan the time to come up to you and say "Yo, I loved that...but what do you mean about..." as artist, are we doing that?

As long as the principles, guidlines, and message is honoring to God and not hindering the spiritual benefits of another... the music can come in any form.

Hope I didn't ramble to much...
Stay Blessed pa'

I feel you and I know about the Reggaeton because I sing it also but I think the message has changed from when it began, I know because I was one of the few that started the Christian part of the movement even thou many may not recognize it. Our goal was to bring word and conviction to the youth and give them an alternative to the secular. But I lately have noticed that anyone that rhymes a few lirics gets he's parents to put money down for a recording and boom there is a Christian reggaeton artists singing that doesn't even know the bible or how to make an alter call. I think what you said about mentoring is true cause I was mentored in this to take care of the movement, to know, and preach the word. Am down for having new things in the movement but I cannot sit back and let people make a fool of a movement that many prayers and tears went into in the beginning. A few I think I doing there thing are: Ivan 2 Filoz, Don Misionero, MC Charles, DNY, Sword of Faith, Emma y Manuel, and many more. All am saying is lets step it up and take it back to the word.

Word!

I definetly feel you man and its hard because we want to shout people out and say "Dude, your doing it all Wrong!"
But all we can do is lead of life of example and a life of true ministry.
Keep doing our thing as a ministers and Rep Christ properly.

That being said... "Everyone needs ministering to". If you feel these cats aren't minstering or performing up to par, then "In Love" holla at them. Create discussions with 'em and see what God flurishes out of the relationship.

Carriers of the Cross did this for me... they took me under their wings and mentored me biblically and gave me tools to use to perfect my flow...not making me change my flow to their style... but gave tools for me to work on developing my skill.

The reason I mention that is because I was already in the "game" for about 4 years by the time we met.
I could have brushed them off and said "Dude, I know what I'm doing".
Yet they approached me in a loving manner and taught the gospel thru their performance. They never directly said you need to do this or that but by watching them I noticed things I wanted to change about myself.

All in all, let's work more on Kingdom Building!
For Reggaeton & Hip-Hop.

It's like this in all Christian Music. There are always a few that use the excuse; "We gott be jsut as good as the world to make it" but then they take it to the extreme and be "Just like the world".. A lot of bling-bling videos, phat cars and all that but no spiritual content.

I think we are at a turning point however. There are many artists taking it to that next level called.. uhhhh... Ministry.. what a concept.. Haha. Seriously though, Funky, Crossed Out, PBC, and others are really stepping it up with their content.. Let's get some more Jesus Reggaeton on here.

Yo, I Hear Baby Tone, and I know what you mean, but what I think caused this act Between these two Artist was that people gave them too much glory and in the action have led them to forget about GOD, what Manny and Funky need to understand is that the bible speeks about the punishment being greater if you cause a little one to fall, they need to get their act straight and realize that if they go on with this, they are the ones destroying their souls and losing salvation.I think to myself at times and ask what's going on with the world today?

lol man this is good stuff a few things from what i see happening,,,,,,,
first thing the same thing that happens with reggeaton guys happens with holyhiphop guys there is not set spot or location guys who do one genra dont really see the other side and the background sceen i used to think like babytone but ive been doing holyhiphop for about 8 years and reggeaton for about 7 in radio that is but i noticed in the last few years that there are alot of inner problems in this movement regardless of which one that needs prayer and a sense of passion for minstry belive it or not at the end of the day no one wants to be told or even given advice its sad becuz sometimes i get nasty looks from these cats and all i have is a smile and a willingness to spin their record but becuz of ego"s , name , and a few other factors doors are closed , people get hurt sometimes it feels like your dealing with secular cats lol ,,,but its the reality most artist keep it to them selfs there happy in the area, city or the few events they go to a year where everybody knows them and if your new or are not in every website little show that pops off or at the three big events a year ..then urr not respected and most times will get a look of ( Ive been here longer and a few peeps know me so you got get your game weight up ...guys to tell u the truth God Is G!seen me in person it comes across like i have a attuide but i dont im actually really cool .but i been burnt so many times it hard as a brother in christ to even keep good realtionships with artist promoters etc...i understand both sides u may agree or disagree but there is a standard where some artist think there better than other ones WE HAVE TO DIE TO THE FLESH DAILY NOT EASY BUT HAS TO BE DONE......LETS PRAY FOR OUR PEEPS IN REGGEATON AND IN HOLYHIPHOP SO ( I KNOW THIS SOUNDS LIKE A GENERIC CHURCH LINE ) we unite as one and really unite not on the basis of if he hot , or can spit but impact the lives of our young generation ,,and i will put myself out there and say i apolgize to anyone on here who ive seen in public in an event or concert and didnt say wuz up ,,,cuz att he end of the day we rep christ and really need to put this behind us....Godbless u guys and im here to serve serious more action than words.....Dont Forget MIM Minstry is Major and we rep Chrsit and grind like Industry Cats!!!!!!!!!!!!Godbless

Glad we got the fam filtering this genre, cuz I can't understand it. It's tough when the beat is hot, but the content is not.

Thanks for your contribution.
